Car Hire in Waikiki
Waikiki is a district in Honolulu city, on Oahu Island in Hawaii. The boundaries of Waikiki are defined by the Ala Wai Canal on the northern and western edges, Kapahulu Avenue in the east and the Pacific Ocean in the south.
When you think of the iconic surfing beach, the place that springs to mind is probably Waikiki, one of the world's most famous beaches. It was not always this way, however. Until the 1920s, when the Ala Wai Canal was built, Waikiki was a wetlands district, irrigated by streams from valleys above Honolulu.
Nowadays, Waikiki is better known as a 1.5 mile (2.4 km) expanse of powder-white sand and the hub of Hawaii's tourism industry. It is lined by high-rise hotels and facilities to cater for the large crowds of visitors that flock here, but if you rent a car in Waikiki and explore, you will find little-known pockets where you can relax and enjoy the exotic paradise.
