Poznan-Lawica Henryk Wieniawski Airport is located 6.2km from the centre of Poznan. Built in 1913, it is one of the country's oldest airports and takes its name from the neighborhood of Lawica, in the city's Grunwald district, although the airport is in Jezyce district. The airport currently handles about 1.5 passengers annually. An additional terminal opened in 2001 can handle up to 1.5 million passengers per year.
