Car Rental Guadalajara Airport
Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport (Aeropuerto Internacional de Guadalajara), also known as Guadalajara International Airport is located about 18km south of downtown Guadalajara. With more than 8 million passengers annually, it is Mexico's third busiest airport, after Mexico City International Airport and Cancún International Airport. The airport is named after Miguel Hidalgo, who started the Mexican war of independence against Spain.
A city of some four million people, unassuming Guadalajara is often unfairly overlooked by travellers. The city’s Centro Histórico is scattered with impressive colonial buildings that incorporate everything from hotels to museums, modern Chapultepec sparkles with stylish restaurants and cafes, and the laid-back suburbs of tony Tlaquepaque and down-to-earth Tonalá brim with folk art. The welcome is warm and the food is exceptional, from street tacos and torta ahogada (chili-soaked pork sandwich) to fine dining in restored colonial mansions.
