  • We had a great experience with Nova Car Hire. It was by chance that we found the website and it had by far the most competitive prices for car rentals. I will absolutely use the website again to book rentals in the future.

About Car Hire in Sardinia

Nearer Africa than Italy, Sardinia resembles something from the tropics, so if it's azure seas and sparkling, sandy beaches you're after, you've come to the right place, with much of the island as yet unspoiled by intense tourism. Inland, the landscapes are just as impressive, with wooded mountains, laden citrus groves, and rolling pastures. There are some exceptionally pretty towns, including the rose-and-gold architecture of Bosa in the west, the fascinating historic centre of Catalan Alghero in the north, and the ancient yet modern capital city of Cagliari.

The landscape is also distinguished by the mysterious conical stone forts called nuraghi, roughly 7,000 of which remain from Megalithic times. Other historic attractions include temples, tombs, menhirs and remains of whole Bronze Age villages.

If you're interested in local cuisine, robust pastas and Sardinian cheeses, such as pecorino and smoked ricotta, dominate the menu. Wash it all down with delicious local wines, or - if you're feeling brave - the fiery filu e ferru!
