Car Hire Ancona
Ancona is located 280km north-east of Rome, between Monte Astagno and Monte Guasco, on the coast of the Adriatic. A city and a seaport in the Marche region of central Italy, it is the capital of the province of the same name, and of the region. It is one of the busiest ports for passengers on the Adriatic Sea, but it also contributes significantly to the region's commercial activity.
Rent a car in Ancona and you are 119km south of Rimini and 466km north of Bari. Escape the heat in the Parco del Cordeto, a refuge of pine trees and sea breezes overlooking the ocean.
Ancona is not the prettiest of towns at first glance, but when you get to know it, it is well worth exploring. The old town is dominated by the 12th-century Duomo, and further investigation will reveal a city whose influences date back to the arrival of Greek settlers from Syracuse around 387 B.C. Linger among Roman ruins, the fine collection in its archaeological museum, and the graceful Renaissance palazzi. Then there are the beautiful views of the Adriatic from hilltop parks and the buzzing streets and piazzas lined with cafes.
