Straddling the geographic and cultural boundaries of Asia, Europe and Africa, Israel and the Palestinian Territories have been drawing devotees since history began. From the ancient prophets and the Crusaders to modern pilgrimage-goers, countless millions have journeyed to this territory, but there’s more to the Holy Land than history.
Pick up your rental car from Tel Aviv airport and discover a country that packs quite a punch for its size. Jerusalem is a dizzying fusion of past and present and a much fought-over prize for the monotheistic religions of the world. You can drive across the Negev desert to the beaches of Eilat, go clubbing in Tel-Aviv, or surf winter and summer. Hike the Israel National Trail, bob in the Dead Sea, or volunteer at a West Bank school - Israel and the Palestinian Territories offer endless options.
