Car Hire Eastbourne
Eastbourne is major seaside resort in East Sussex on the south coast of England, 27 km east of Brighton. It is situated directly east of Beachy Head, which is the country's tallest chalk sea cliff, and it is also part of the South Downs National Park. Eastbourne is an attractive town, with Victorian hotels lining the seafront, a lively pier, and a Napoleonic-era fort and military museum. It is primarily a tourist town, with its revenue from seaside visitors supplemented by conferences and events.
Although there is evidence of human settlements in the area from the Stone Age, the town itself dates from 1800, when high-profile landowner William Cavendish (later the Duke of Devonshire) contracted architect Henry Currey to design a street plan inspired by European cities of the time. Today, Eastbourne is a growing town with some 100,000 residents, many of them commuters to London and Brighton.
Car hire in Eastbourne puts you within easy reach of Brighton, less than 40km away, as well as other coastal towns, including Dover (114km away) and Bognor Regis (82km). Despite the easy access to England's bustling south-eastern towns, you're just 5km from Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters - a series of spectacular white cliffs backed by gently rolling downs in an area of stunning natural beauty and serenity.
