Located 20 km from downtown Cape Town, Cape Town International Airport is South Africa's second-busiest airport and a regular recipient of international airport awards. You can avail of direct flights to and from South Africa's other two main airports, Johannesburg and Durban, as well as other domestic locations. Direct flights also operate to Asia, Europe, and other African destinations. The air route between Cape Town and Johannesburg is one of the world's busiest air routes, with about 4.5 million passengers. The car rental desks at Cape Town International Airport are located in the Arrivals Hall of each terminal. To drive to Cape Town after picking up your Nova rental car at the airport, follow airport exit signs before taking the "N2 Cape Town". After 3 kilometres join the N2 double lane motorway heading for Cape Town and follow the "N2 City" signage left after passing the twin concrete cooling towers on the right hand side of the N2 motorway. Keep to the right where the highway splits, and continue on the right when it splits again. At the major intersection after the Cape Town International Convention Centre, take a right to enter the V&A Waterfront, and continue straight on to Cape Town.
Car Hire in Cape Town
South Africa’s Western Cape is the ultimate playground for young and old. Exceptional weather, mind-blowing scenery, and an immense range of activities mean you will never want to go home. Take your rental car to Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town, a 38km drive from Cape Town and discover a beautiful cove of feather-soft sand where a colony of odd little African “jackass” penguins has taken up residence. Take a history lesson that will stay with you by taking the half-hour ferry ride from Cape Town to the former maximum-security prison Robben Island. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, Robben Island is the site of the prison where former president Nelson Mandela was jailed from 1962 to 1990, and former political prisoners now lead memorable tours. For a real thrill, take the cable car up Table Mountain and marvel at views of a landscape regularly included among the ultimate places to see.
