Trondheim Airport is located in Værnes, a village in the municipality of Stjørdal in Nord-Trøndelag county, 19km from Trondheim, a city and municipality in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. Run by the state-owned Avinor, it shares facilities with the Royal Norwegian Air Force's Værnes Air Station. It handles more than 4 million passengers annually, making it Norway's fourth-busiest airport.
Terminal A is used for domestic traffic, and Terminal B serves international traffic. The principal airports to operate from Trondheim are Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), Norwegian Air Shuttle and Widerøe. The most popular route is the service to Oslo, operated by both SAS and Norwegian. Daily international flights to Copenhagen are operated by SAS, and KLM flies to Amsterdam. Trondheim has flights to 17 domestic and 21 international destinations, as well as to 18 charter destinations.
