Car Rental Trapani, Sicily
Trapani is the capital of the province of Trapani on the Italian island of Sicily. Founded by the Elmyian people during the Bronze Age, it suffered catastrophic damage during World War II but has since expanded almost to the base of Monte San Giuliano. The city's proximity to places like Erice, Segesta, and the Egadi Islands has made it increasingly popular among visitors.
Trapani has some noteworthy Baroque landmarks, including the 14th-century Church of Sant'Agostino, the spectacular Basilica-Sanctuary of Maria Santissima Annunziata and the 15th-century cathedral - which features an Annunciation attributed to Anthony van Dyck. You can take a cable car to Monte Erice to admire views of the medieval castle, as well as views of Tunisia and Africa. Trapani is within easy reach of some delightful beaches, with the best of them at Marausa about 9 km south of the city.
Car hire in Trapani is a great way to see the beautiful island of Sicily. Tour the coast and drive to the capital, Palermo (108km). Wander the medieval streets of the postcard-pretty Cefalu, 175km away. With wonderful beaches and great food and wine, you have the makings of an exceptional holiday.
