Kimberley Airport is located in Kimberley, Northern Cape Province of South Africa. Kimberley is located in the Diamond Fields of the District just north of the Karoo, an arid desert area popular because of its National Parks.
If you are passing through Kimberley one thing you must see is the Big Hole which was made during the diamond rush of the 1870s. Kimberley was also a world renowned area for gliding though you can still do it during the months of December and January.
The city is on the N12 which connects Cape Town to Johannesburg, but given the large size of the country it sometimes easier to get a domestic flight from either of these cities and then from here hire a car and explore this beautiful landscape.
The airport is located about 6km south of the city and it offers flights with both South African Airlink and South African Express to both Cape Town and Johannesburg respectively. There are no international flights to the airport but from either Cape Town or Johannesburg you can connect to all over the world.
