Galway city is renowned for both its quality restaurants and lively pubs that sit along its cobbled streets. One of the most famous pubs in Galway is Roisin Dubh’s where famous members of the music world will turn up unannounced and start playing a gig. Other pubs in Galway that are worth a visit include those along Shop Street, Dominic Street, Quay Street and generally anywhere around Eyre Square and the city centre.

Due to its location on the coast, you can expect to find loads of seafood restaurants in Galway; each one serves the freshly caught lobster, crab, mussels, scallops, salmon and trout. In fact, every year Galwegians hail the mighty oyster with the famous Galway Oyster Festival.
