Located in the Northern Cape Province, Kimberley is a major city in the South African Karoo. It's often referred to as the Diamond City. This is because diamond mining was a very important part of the city's past. Pretoria is the administrative capital of South Africa and is located in the north of the Gauteng Province. It's one of South Africa's three capitals and is only 50km from Johannesburg, the capital of the region. The city is sometimes called Jacaranda City by natives after the Jacaranda trees that line many of the streets.

Bloemfontein, often referred to as the City of Roses, is located right in the heart of South Africa in a province called the Free State. It's the sixth largest city in South Africa and is located on the N1 motorway between Cape Town and Johannesburg. The name comes from the Dutch translation of Spring of Flowers (blooms). The city is also well known for its annual Rose Festival which is held in October.

Pietermaritzburg is the capital of the KwaZulu-Natal region in South Africa. The city of Pietermaritzburg (more commonly shortened to Maritzburg) is a beautiful Victorian city, most famous for its history and architecture.
Not only is it located on the major route between the cities of Johannesburg and Durban, it's packed with attractions and activities, is just under 1 hour from the beach, and if you drive just a few minutes outside the city you're in the African bush!
