Malaysia is located in South-East Asia and is split into two parts. There is Peninsular Malaysia (aka West Malaysia) which is part of mainland Asia and borders Thailand and Singapore. Then there is East Malaysia which occupies a portion of the island Borneo. The rest of that island belongs to Indonesia and Brunei. Most tourists holiday in the Peninsular Malaysia and this is where most of the country’s infrastructure lies.
