Shocking stuff isn't it? Read our top tips to find out how to enjoy hassle-free, safe car hire.

We make sure that Nova’s customers won’t encounter ANY problems.

You see, we’re totally independent and aren’t tied to any particular car hire company so we’ll always look after you rather than take the side of the supplier (plus, if we provide a good service, we know you’ll use us again!).

That’s why we only deal with the most reputable car hire firms so that quality cars are provided every time…if a problem does occur or if there’s anything you’re not happy with—contact us immediately.

And we’re not into that whole nonsense of charging an extra fee for booking over the phone, fleecing you for a few extra quid just because you want to make an amendment or even holding onto all of your cash when you need to cancel.

Quite simply, there are no extra fees to pay on anything—you see on Novacarhire.com. Our car hire rates are all-inclusive that way there’ll be no nasty surprises waiting when you pick up your car.

So after you’ve presented your booking voucher to the local car hire supplier and filled out the paperwork, follow these seven simple tips to ensure complete peace of mind:

  1. Get scratches, dents, etc. recorded—if you find any, point them out to the car rental company rep and have them verify it on the contract. This way, you won’t be blamed for any prangs committed by previous drivers.
  2. Always check the tyres—if the treads are too worn ask for another car or if they look like they’re going flat, ask for the tyre pressure to be checked. Also, make sure you have a look at the spare tyre and ask for a new one if it looks in any way dodgy.
  3. Test the seat belts—it’s best to try out every belt in the car. Make sure each belt clicks into place securely and then pull sharply to make sure it works.
  4. Check the car controls—get the car rental firm's rep to go through any controls that you’re not sure about. Actually, it’s a good idea to ask for the manual of the car itself.
  5. Try the wipers—it might not cross your mind on a bright sunny day but always check that the wipers and the windscreen jets are in working order.
  6. Examine the lights—get the car rental firm's rep to show you how the lights work (dipped & full beams) and make sure that indicators, reverse lights, hazard lights and brake lights work fully.
  7. Make sure the brakes work—to be honest, the best way of doing this is to actually take the vehicle for a short test drive. If you’re not happy with the brakes, ask for another car.

And remember, if there’s anything you’re not 100% happy with we’ll sort it for you—just get in touch
