Spain Car Hire: Getting From Gerona Airport To Barcelona

However, the name of the terminal is somewhat deceptive, as Gerona Airport is actually some 100km north east of the city itself. Fear not, we’ve produce a short, to the point guide to help you get to Barcelona swiftly and easily. Read on for more info…

If you’re hiring a car at Gerona Airport it’s pretty straight forward. From the airport exit on to the AP-7, that’s the Autopista del Mediterrani. This is a toll road, so have some euros handy. Continue along the route towards Barcelona and take the C33 road, which will bring you to the Ronda Litoral (ring-road) of the city. From here just follow the signs to whichever part of the city you’re headed.

Don’t forget to have a look at our Spanish language blog for a helping hand on the lingo of the road.

Alternatively you can grab the Barcelona Bus from outside arrivals. This will set you back EUR12.00 for a single and EUR21.00 for a return It will take you to the Estacio del Nord bus station in the central area of the city. From here you can take the underground to wherever your hotel is located: Avinguda Vilanova metro station, on the red line 1, is located at the end of the street.
